Sundarbans
The Sundarbans, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest mangrove forest in the world. It comprises of the southern part of Bangladesh and a part of India where the most part is in Bangladesh.
Tourist attractions:
- It’s the only abode of world famous Royal Bengal Tiger. Besides, it has a mob of spotted deer, monkeys, different colorful birds, etc. to enjoy.
- To have the full thrill of adventure in Sundarban spent 3-4 days here. Enter to the deep forest and walk through the road of Tiger where you can get panic seeing the footprint of the tiger. But hardly you’ve a chance to meet with the the Tiger.
- Stay in the hotel for accommodation but when you are in the forest, people usually stay in the launch.
Keokradong
The fifth highest mountain (1230 meters) of Bangladesh, Keokaradong is located in 30km away from the Ruma sadar Upazilla in Bandarban.
Tourist attractions:
- This place is full of beauty where you can see big and small mountains and hills. The area is enriched with dense forest, birds, and animals.
- You’ll be charmed by the dazzling green hill, zigzag path, cool fountains, hide and seek game of the clouds,hilly roads side on the top of the hill.
- White clouds covered all around during the rain and golden ray at the evening is the best moment in keokradong.It’s not possible to describe the sun rise and the night of the Keokradong if you never see it. The night is very cold, you’ll need double blanket.
Ratargul, Sylhet
Ratargul, the only swamp forest in Bangladesh is located in Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet. The beauty is bloomed mainly in rainy season.
In gwainghat hire boat and heads towards island like place from where again hire a small boat for ratargul forest. Here it will cost BDT 200-500 for exploring ratargul forest. It’s better to hire traditional boat instead of engine boat where it’s shakiness will give you real experience of the boat riding.
Tourist attractions:
- Most of the trees here are ‘koroch’ trees, a spot of attraction for the botanist. The reflection of the koroch tree on the crystal clear water of Chengir Khal creates mesmerizing ambiance.
- Freshwater swamp forest is a good source of local fishes during rainy season. Besides, monkeys, lizards, birds insects, green spiders, birds etc are available to offer you flavor of Amazon forest.
- Ratargul will provide you very adventurous and scary feeling. During boat riding the low hanging branches will hit you slightly and again you may stuck in the narrow gap between the trees what make your ride more daring.
- Monsoon, in the month of July and August is the best time for visiting ratargul which gets submerged under 20 to 30 feet water in some part and rest of the year the water level is 10 feet.
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban
An architectural masterpiece, Jatiyo Sangsad bhaban is designed by an American architect and Yale University Professor, Louis I. Kahn. It’s the Parliament of Bangladesh located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
Though its construction started in 1964 but ends after the Liberation war in 1982.
Nijhum deep
If you are looking for any calm and peaceful environment for healing your heart or want to get rid of boredom which seems incurable, surely you can choose Nijhum deep for exploring. It means island of serenity, island of tranquility. It’s an offshore island raised on the estuary of the Meghna channel in the mouth of the Bay of Bengal, 2 km southwest of Hatia under Noakhali district.

Ahsan Manzil Museum
Massive and elegant building built by Nawab Abdul Gani is located at Kurmitola. He was the rich landlord in the city. Once it was the official residential Palace of the Dhaka Nawab Family.
Sonargaon
Sonargaon is a historic place located near industrial river port of Narayanganj, Dhaka.It’s the oldest capital of Bengal also known as ‘the city of Panam’.
Safari Park, Gazipur

the difference between zoo and safari park is, in zoo animals are confined where in the safari park jungles are maintained. People visit all around the jungle by bus inside.
Entry fees for adult cost 50tk where for kids above 2 years is 20tk. Tuesday is a government holiday. Otherwise, it’s open from 8 am- 5 pm.
For food, you have to buy from restaurants inside the park which are little bit expensive.
shat Gombuj Mosque
Shat Gombuj Mosque, built by Khan Jahan Ali in 1459 is the largest and magnificent mosque in the country. You may get confused with the name ‘Shat Gambuj’ which means 60 domes but actually it has 60 pillars with 81 domes in all total of the mosque. It can be said that the architectural influence is from Turkish. Though exterior and interior mosque gives rather a plain architecture but the interior western wall is beautified with terracotta flowers and foliage.
Mohasthanghar
The archeological and historical site, Mahasthan Garh was the capital of the kingdom the Mourjo, the Sen Dynasty and the Gupta. It’s on the bank of the river Korotoa,13km north of Bogra town.
‘Mohasthan’ means sacred place and ‘garh’ means fort. The largest and entire city of Bengal is fortified successfully by mud and brick wall.
Mainamati, Comilla
The archeological site, Mainamati is located 8 miles from Comilla town. There are a series of hillocks where the northern part is called Mainamati; the southern part is called Lalmai and at the mid of this part contains Shalbon Bihar established by the King Buddha Dev in the 8th century.
Jamuna bridge
Jamuna bridge, constructed over river Jamuna is the largest bridge in Bangladesh and 11th largest in the world. The bridge costs $962 million.
On rainy season, the jamuna river is transformed into sea and at night the sodium lamp on the bridge create different environment to make you nostalgic.

Religious Architecture of Bangladesh
- Baitul Mukarram is the national mosque of Bangladesh. Located at the centre of Dhaka, the mosque was completed in 1968. The mosque has a capacity of 30,000, and it is world's tenth largest mosque.
- Mosque City of Bagerhat is a formerly lost city, located in the suburbs of Bagerhat city in Bagerhat District, in the Khulna Division. The historic city, listed by Forbes as one of the 15 lost cities of the world, has more than 50 Islamic monuments.
- Kantojiu Temple built between 1702 and 1752, a nava-ratna (nine-spired) style Hindu temple.
- Dhakeshwari Temple built in the twelfth century, the national temple of Bangladesh.
- Hoseni Dalan a Shia shrine built in the seventeenth century.
- Sixty Dome Mosque is a mosque in Bangladesh, the largest in that country from the Sultanate period. It has been described as "the most impressive Muslim monuments in the whole of the Indian subcontinent.
British architecture
- Curzon Hall a hundred years old British style town hall.
- Northbrook Hall a hundred and fifty years old British style town hall.
